WINTER MEETINGS

EVENT IDENTITY DEVELOPMENT

Big occasions call for memorable branding.  And the Baseball Winter Meetings are big.  Representatives from nearly 200 major and minor league teams big.  3,000 total attendees big.  750 press credentials big.  300 trade show exhibitors big.  The biggest offseason event in professional sports big.

Creating dynamic, evocative logos worthy of the magnitude of this event and reflecting the essence of the host city is certainly an important part of the process, but branding the Meetings goes well beyond that.  A comprehensive style guide that also contains key art, word marks, icons, rules, borders, patterns and other visual and typographic elements is developed for application on everything from the signage and displays attendees see the moment they arrive down to the lanyards around their necks.

Conceptualizing and bringing to life this wide range of assets is a dream project, and Studio Simon has had the good fortune to live this dream on 12 different occasions, for Meetings in destinations across the United States including San Diego, Las Vegas, Dallas, Orlando and Nashville.  And when the team owners, front office executives and staff, player agents, members of the media and other industry personnel converge on these cities each December, what they see was all designed with one goal in mind: making a big impression.
